Every year, @CanadianDermatologyAssociation recognizes the industry campaigns that further Canadian understanding of dermatologic issues and encourage healthy skin, hair, and nail care.
This year the Canadian Dermatology Association award committee selected Seaford’s #drysolidatiy campaign as CDA public education award in the industry category.
Hyperhidrosis affects approximately 950,000 Canadian*, yet the stigma around sweat discourages sufferers from speaking about it and seeking help. Only 38% of people living with hyperhidrosis talk to a health care professional about their condition, and many people are unaware that excessive sweating is a manageable medical disorder.
The #drysolidarity campaign on social/digital media was created to help end the stigma around sweat and hyperhidrosis and get more people comfortable talking about these conditions with the simple message, and it reinforced a sense of togetherness: “You’re not alone; we’re here for you. #drysolidarity”. With over 1.2 million impressions, this campaign led to many hyperhidrosis sufferers likely feeling more comfortable in their skin and more comfortable seeking help.
Sincere thanks for the recognition; receiving this award is a great honour. This award particularly recognizes our team’s patient-centric endeavour to increase awareness about hyperhidrosis and help patients have a better quality of life. Thank you!
